Service.
That's what it's all about, isn't it?
I would like to introduce you to my favorite humanitarian organization:
the welfare program of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints...
{LDS Humanitarian Services}
{{did you know:}}
100% of the donations made to LDS Humanitarian Services goes straight to the needy1
Compare that to the American Red Cross, which can only give 91 cents for every dollar. 2
In a $5,000 donation, that's a $450 difference!
Now don't get me wrong--I'm all for the Red Cross and the good that they do.
But honestly... you can't beat one-hundred percent!
So go check out the different parts of LDS Humanitarian Services. They do everything from teaching people self-reliance in Utah, to shipping emergency relief supplies around the world, to providing wheelchairs, clean water, and volunteer service... among many, many other things.
To find out more about what the program is and how you can help, go to mormon.org/humanitarian-aid.
For more information on the history and inspiration of the program, see H. David Burton's (presiding bishop of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) speech from the April 2011 General Conference.
beautiful thing:
LDS Humanitarian Services
helping people everywhere since 1936.
peace out.
